Applications Open: 2026 Making Change Summer School with Alice Macdonald MP
Are you aged 16–18 and living or studying in Norwich North? Do you want to learn how to make a real difference in your community? This summer, your local MP Alice is offering an exciting, hands-on opportunity to do exactly that.
From Monday 20th to Friday 24th July 2026, Alice’s Summer School will bring together a group of young people from across the constituency for a week of opportunities. It’s an chance to develop your skills, gain practical experience, and be inspired by other young people. Whether you’re passionate about a specific issue or just curious about how change happens, this programme is designed to give you the tools and confidence to get involved.
What to Expect
This is not a typical classroom experience. The Summer School is all about developing real-world skills and understanding how decisions are made, and how to influence the decision-makers.
Over the week, you’ll:
- Take part in interactive workshops on communication, campaigning, persuasive speaking and more.
- Learn directly from experts in Alice’s office, local businesses, community organisations, and campaigners.
- Gain insight into the day-to-day work of an MP.
- Visit Parliament in London for a behind-the-scenes tour.
- Explore local decision-making in Norwich, where you’ll learn how to make change and influence your local communities.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open to all young people aged 16–18 who live or study in Norwich North, regardless of your background, interests, or future plans.
This includes:
- If you’re studying A-levels at school
- If you’re at college
- If you’re doing an apprenticeship
- Or if you’re still figuring out your next steps

Complete the application form below and email it to alice.macdonald.mp@parliament.uk before midnight on Sunday 14th June.
We will respond to everyone with the outcome of their application by Friday 26th June, confirming whether or not you have secured a place.
Additional Information
This summer school is free! Participants are expected to make their own way to and from the summer school base each day – this may vary on some days but will be within Norwich and close to a bus route. Transport between Norwich and London will be provided for the Westminster trip.
