MORE DENTAL NEWS…

Last month it was confirmed that the UEA had received the 25 spaces they needed to start training dentists in Norfolk. Now, the University of East Anglia has opened applications for 2027 entry to it’s dental school, and are encouraging prospective students to apply.

The establishment of this long-awaited dental school will play a crucial role in improving access to dental care for patients in Norwich and communities across the region.

Summer School 2026

This summer, Alice is offering an exciting, hands-on opportunity for young people aged 16-18 to learn how to make a real difference in their communities.

From Monday 20th to Friday 24th July 2026, Alice’s Summer School will bring together a group of young people from across the constituency for a week of opportunities. It’s a chance for them to develop their skills, gain practical experience, and be inspired by other young people.

If you’re a parent or carer of a young person living or studying in Norwich North, and think this might sound interesting to them, send them the info and tell them to apply before Sunday 14th June!

SEND in Norwich

Last month, Alice wrote to the Secretary of State for Education to share local people’s views on the Government’s SEND reform proposals and add to the Government’s consultation.

Thank you again to everyone who got in touch, or attended the forum last month to share your views and experiences. We will continue to make sure local voices are heard and push for positive changes in the SEND system.

Social Media and Young People

Since March, we’ve been gathering your views on young people’s relationship with social media in order to feed into the Government’s consultation.

This consultation is the next step in the government’s work to ensure children’s experiences online are safe and enriching, understanding how technology impacts children’s wellbeing, and what more can be done to help families strike the right balance.

Thank you to everyone who filled in the online survey on Alice’s website. All of the responses were collated and sent to the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology last week, ensuring local voices from Norwich North are heard in this.

Anti-Social Behaviour

Everyone in Norwich North deserves to feel safe and supported in their community.

Last week the office held an ASB surgery, offering support to local people facing anti-social behaviour challenges across Norwich North. Thank you to everyone who came to speak to one of our caseworkers.

If you couldn’t make it, or have something else to raise, remember you can get in touch by emailing alice.macdonald.mp@parliament.uk.
