BIG DENTAL NEWS!

Have you heard the news?! Since the last newsletter update, 25 funded places have been provisionally allocated by the OFS to The University of East Anglia in order to train dentists in our region! It’s fantastic news following years of campaigning, and a big step forward to ending the dental desert in Norfolk.

NEW – Summer School 2026

This summer, Alice is offering an exciting, hands-on opportunity for young people aged 16-18 to learn how to make a real difference in their communities.

From Monday 20th to Friday 24th July 2026, Alice’s Summer School will bring together a group of young people from across the constituency for a week of opportunities. It’s a chance for them to develop their skills, gain practical experience, and be inspired by other young people.

If you’re a parent or carer of a young person living or studying in Norwich North, and think this might sound interesting to them, send them the info and tell them to apply before Sunday 14th June!

Better Rights for Renters

The Renter’s Rights Act came into force last Friday, but what does it mean for you?

✅An end to no-fault evictions and bidding wars

✅Higher maintenance and safety standards

✅Landlords can no longer discriminate against tenants with children, or on benefits

✅A limit on rent increases

✅Renters can request a pet in the property, which a landlord cannot unreasonably refuse

ASB Surgery

We hear from many of you about the issues anti-social behaviour is causing in the local area. Alice’s office team is holding an anti-social behaviour specific surgery to support constituents dealing with any ASB related issues.

The surgery will take place on Wednesday 27th May from 6-7:30PM. Register your interest in attending by getting in touch. Email alice.macdonald.mp@parliament.uk, or call 01603 733182.

This event will take place in the Catton Grove area, but anyone living in Norwich North is welcome to attend. The exact location will be shared with attendees closer to the time.

SEND Reforms Proposals

A big thank you to everyone who attended the SEND Forum last month to share their thoughts on the Government’s SEND Reform proposals.

In February, the Government set out much-needed reforms to fix the SEND system, rebuild confidence for families, ensure young people with SEND get the right support closer to home, and to make every school truly inclusive.

If you couldn’t attend, you can still share your thoughts with us via email – alice.macdonald.mp@parliament.uk. You can also feed directly into the Government’s consultation until May 18th, using the link below.
