5374 Children in Norwich North Living in Poverty – New Figures

New figures published this week by End Child Poverty reveal a staggering 5374 children in Norwich North- 29.5%- are living in poverty – up by 3.4% since 2015.

Responding to the figures, Alice Macdonald, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Norwich North said,

“These aren’t just devastating statistics- they are children’s lives. Children right here in Norwich North whose lives are held back before they have even begun. They deserve better than this.

“Sadly, it’s no surprise that child poverty figures are rising as the cost of living crisis deepens under the Conservative Government. They must take immediate action to ensure no child grows up in poverty.

“Families in Norwich North need a government with a plan. Labour would build a better Britain by making high growth a driving mission of the next Government with good jobs and productivity rising in every part of our country.”
