What I’ve been doing on… Antisocial Behaviour
Watch this in video form HERE
Many of you have contacted me about the anti-social behaviour taking place in various areas around our constituency. Norwich North is a great place to live, but there are some issues, from speeding, to fly tipping, littering, nuisance neighbours, and shoplifting, I’ve been listening to your stories and taking action.
Locally
On Britannia Road, boy-racers have been disturbing residents for years. I spoke about this issue with the Police and Crime Commissioner back in February, also speaking to councillors and local people directly.
I later conducted a survey on what safety measures you would welcome to the area. Since sharing your concerns and responses with the county council, work has begun to make this area safer.
Most recently, I met with local residents, City and County Council officials, County and City Councillors and the Police and Crime Commissioner to discuss progress with residents.

I have also been raising your concerns surrounding disruptive neighbours and working with the City Council and Police to take action, speaking with residents during walk-abouts in some of these areas and seeing what measures have been put into place.

In Parliament
I’ve been raising all of these points and highlighting your concerns in Parliament. I’ve asked Ministers about what actions the government will take to tackle speeding and illegally modified e-bikes and e-scooters.
And in March I secured a debate on Anti-Social Behaviour in the East of England. You can read it HERE.

I also commend the communities and local groups that are taking direct action to keep our streets safe and tidy for local residents.

And a big thank you to the Police for all that they do.
Please remember you can get in touch with my office about any local issues. I’ll carry on listening to your concerns and continue to speak about this in Parliament.
