News from your MP – October
I’ve been busy in Parliament over the last month, from speaking to Ministers, and holding meetings with other MPs, to presenting my 10-Minute Rule Bill in Westminster.
Read all about it below!
Fertility 10-Minute Rule Bill
Earlier this week, I presented my 10-minute rule Bill in Parliament to give a legal right to paid time off work for fertility treatment. The current system is letting thousands of people – especially women – down. Watch my video to find out why a change in the law is needed, and read the article to find out more about the campaign.
Minister encourages everyone to get involved
Last month I welcomed the £20 million Pride in Place funding awarded to Heartsease and Pilling Park in the Chamber. The Minister joined me in encouraging people of all backgrounds and ages to get involved in this transformative project.
You can fill out my survey to have your say on how the money should be spent in the local area below. Fill it in, and share it with your neighbours and local community!

My Christmas Card Competition
I’m excited to invite Year 5 aged children living across Norwich North to take part in my 2025 Christmas Card Competition. It’s an opportunity for children to showcase their creativity and festive spirit, with the winning design to be featured on my official Christmas card this year being sent around the constituency, and Westminster.
The deadline to return submissions is 14th November, so be quick!
Working on better health for Norwich
In September, the government released its NHS League Tables, including those for NHS Ambulance Trusts, with concerning rankings for Norfolk.
Better health for the people of Norwich North continues to be one of my top priorities, and since then I have met with the East of England Ambulance Trust CEO, and regional MPs to discuss the support needed in order to meet targets and continue to improve their services.
More In Parliament
Last month I welcomed the Renters Rights Act becoming law, bringing more protections for tenants! That’s an end to no-fault evictions, maximum of 1 month’s rent upfront, rolling monthly tenancies, no more bidding wars, and more rights for your pets.
I also asked the Education Minister what we can do to increase families access to affordable childcare, and ensure even more families benefit from this governments funding. Watch it HERE.
Further to this I met with the Minister for Youth to discuss how we can deliver more opportunities for young people in Norwich North, and spoke with Baroness Merron, the Parliamentary Under Secretary for Mental Health, about previsions in our region.

Here to Help
Last month I organised a Housing Forum in NR3 to bring residents together with Norwich City Council Housing Officers, and local Councillors and discuss issues surrounding housing in the area.

I also have a coffee morning coming up on Saturday! The information, and dates for my upcoming surgeries are up on my website, get in touch with my office if you require any support with an issue, or would like to book a place.
