A message from Alice…
This year marks two years of being your MP. I’ve continued to stand up for our community in Westminster, securing investment and action on key areas I promised to deliver on – health, homes and opportunity.
I’ve also worked locally to get results, whether to tackle anti-social behaviour or helping residents with individual issues. I promised to be accessible and visible and have continued to host surgeries, events and community forums.
It is a privilege to represent Norwich North as your MP. I will always do my best to help where I can, so please do get in touch if there is anything you would like my help with.
UEA Dental School – Coming in 2027
I’ve campaigned for a dental school at the University of East Anglia since day one. We were the only region in the country without one, and now the Government has listened. With recruitment of students underway, this new school will play a vital role in improving access to dental care for people in Norwich and across the wider region. I know there is still much more to do to end the dental desert, but this is a major step forward.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Making Sure Your Voice Is Heard
Over the past year I have continued my work to improve support for children and young people with SEND in Norwich North.
I brought together families to share their experiences, published my ‘Living with SEND in Norwich North’ report, raised your concerns directly with Ministers in Westminster, and continued to support families through individual cases.
Earlier this year, we also secured over £15M to bring more SEND provision and school places to Norfolk. I’m pleased to see this Government’s investment to end the postcode lottery for children with SEND. We’ve made big steps so far, and I will continue to ensure your voices are heard both locally and nationally.
Delivering More Nursery Places
I’ve supported funding to expand school-based nurseries in Norwich North. Three local nurseries have now been able increase the number of places they offer this year, helping families access free childcare closer to home.
NEW – Youth Hub Coming To Norwich
We’ve secured funding for a new Youth Hub in Norwich! This will bring employment, education and training support to the heart of our communities, expanding youth opportunities.
Pride in Place
Securing Investment In Our Communities
After fighting for our local communities, I’m pleased that Heartsease and Pilling Park have been awarded £20 million from the Government through Pride in Place. Spread over the next decade, this means £2 million every year invested directly into improving our community – with local residents leading the decisions on how that money is spent. I’m excited to see many of these suggestions take shape in the years ahead.
Action At White House Farm Estate
New homes must come with proper infrastructure. I know this is a problem in different areas of Norwich North.
This includes the White House Farm estate in Sprowston where unadopted roads have been causing issues. I bought together the local community with housing developers and the council to secure action to grit the roads during the winter. There’s still much more to be done, but I’m pleased that action has been taken. I’ll always do my best to find solutions in the interests of residents.
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour
Whilst Norwich is a great place to live, there is still more to be done to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime. I’ve spoken about this in Westminster and meet regularly with local police and other authorities to press for action.
One big issue raised with me has been speeding and ASB on Britannia Road. I am continuing to push for action with the local authority, police, and conservation groups for speed reduction measures to be put into place.
Renters’ Rights Act
Securing more good, affordable homes is one of my top priorities. I was pleased to vote for the passage of the Renters’ Rights Act through Parliament. The Housing Forum I held last autumn made it abundantly clear that renters need better protections. The measures I supported include a ban on No Fault Evictions, limits on the number of rent increases, landlords meeting higher maintenance standards, and stronger rights to have a pet!

I also regularly host surgeries, coffee mornings, forums and community meetings, in order to better support constituents as well as gather local thoughts and ideas about national policy to feed into Government.
