Norwich is facing a housing crisis. Too many people are stuck in expensive, poor-quality rentals, while the dream of owning a home feels further out of reach than ever.
The new government has made unlocking more housebuilding one of the key missions for the next five years, and I am pushing for more affordable homes in Norwich North.
The development of Anglia Square, unlocked with money from Homes England presents a fantastic opportunity for us to provide more affordable housing, jobs and services for residents.
Thanks to the government that we have the funding to crack on and start building the new Anglia Square with hundreds of affordable homes for local people.
This just shows what can be achieved very quickly when a Labour Council works hand-in-hand with a Labour Government and I will be doing my best to ensure that affordable homes, jobs and opportunities are delivered for our city.
Trust in politics is at an all-time low and I can understand why many people simply don’t feel politics works for them.
I will work my hardest to restore trust and show that politicians are not all the same. That’s why I have been out and about speaking to so many people across Norwich North to hear your concerns.
